What Is Cake Auf?
Cake Auf! is a fast, fun dessert-themed card game designed for 2–4 players aged 8 and up. A typical game runs 30 minutes, making it the perfect pick for family game nights, after-dinner fun, or anytime you want a quick, sweet competition.
What's in the Box?
- A yellow back deck of ingredient and action cards
- A red back deck of recipe cards
- Rulebook
Game Objective
Be the first player to build the best dessert collection by completing the most recipes. The first player with who makes recipes totaling 5 stars wins!
How to Set Up
- Shuffle the yellow back cards thoroughly, and deal each player 5 cards, kept face down.
- Shuffle the red back cards (recipes) thoroughly, and deal each player 3 cards, placed face up in a row in front of the player.
- Place the remaining yellow back cards face-down in the center as the draw pile.
- Place the remaining red back cards off to the side (this is the recipe draw pile).
- The last person who made a dessert goes first!
How to Play – Turn by Turn
On your turn, you have 3 actions:
- Play a card from your hand — add an ingredient to a recipe, use an action card (and place it in the discard pile), or discard a card (by placing it in the discard pile).
- You can do the same action 3 times or pick and choose — it's up to you.
- You MUST do all 3 actions.
- To end your turn, draw cards from the yellow back cards so that your hand equals 5 cards.
Special Cards
Action cards let you steal desserts from opponents, swap hands, or attack other opponents' desserts.
Note: You cannot preemptively protect a recipe by using "Fire Restored" or "Power Restored." They can only be used on ATTACKED recipes.
Use action cards wisely — timing is everything!
Winning the Game
The game ends when one player has completed recipes totaling 5 stars or more. The game ends immediately when a player collects 5 or more stars.
Tips for New Players
- Don't hoard action cards — use them proactively.
- Once the red deck runs out, reshuffle and make a new deck. The game doesn't end once the red deck runs out.
- Use the "Freezer Burn" with caution — the card can picked up by another player and used on YOU!
